Save on Utility Costs
We understand how difficult it is to save money, especially in the face of rising energy costs. Here are a few tips on how to reduce your utility bill and your carbon footprint at the same time.
-
Learn About Alternative Transportation
Think 'outside the car'. Using the paved, flat Caperton and Decker’s Creek Rail Trails to make connections between the downtown and Evansdale campuses and beyond makes for efficient and pleasant walking and biking trips. Morgantown has many different bike routes and bus routes to help you avoid the cost of owning a car and paying for parking on campus.
-
Shop Sustainably
There are many secondhand and thrift stores in town to help you find unique and affordable clothing and home goods. Check out Plato's Closet, Uptown Cheapskate, The Ranch Community Store, Mon Valley Habitat for Humanity ReStore, The Salvation Army, Goodwill , ReTails, and Animal Friends Thrift Shoppe.
